   Engine Test Bed Components

Model 345/346
Heated Front End Filter
A Portable Heavy duty heated Front End Filter unit is installed in the engine test cell close to the sample probe.

The  Unit is fitted with a choice of either External Temperature Control (Model 345) or Internal Temperature Control (Model 346). The  units incorporate a heated head filter and CAL gas / HC Hang-up Check inlet ports.

Model 351 / 352
Heated Pump/Pre-filter

A  heavy duty heated Prefilter unit is installed in the engine test cell close to the sample probe.

The  Prefilter is fitted with a choice of either one (Model 351) or two (Model  352) filter streams (for either two sample points, pre/post cat or twin cells).

The  units incorporate a heated head sample pump, CAL gas inlet ports, back  purge, forward purge and leak check facility.  All heated valves are  full flow actuated ball valves. Purge gas and CAL gas inlets have temperature stabilization coils to ensure that  all gases reach the same temperature as sample gas.

Series 970
Gasoline CVS System
The Signal Group Constant Volume Sampler (CVS) uses the Critical Flow Venturi (CFV) method to accurately measure the mass emissions of vehicle or engine exhaust. The CVS flow calculations are based on the current international regulations using the fluid dynamics principle associated with critical flow.

The complete CVS system comprises an Ambient Air Filter Module (3 stage), mixing tee and ambient bag sample point. Also a CVS Sampler Rack containing a cyclone separator, heat exchanger and water recirculation system.  A main CVF, dilute bag sample point and CVF, and a dilute continuous sample point. It also contains temperature and pressure transmitters.
A CVS Bag Control Rack containing a sampling system for gas path to and from the sample bags, sample pumps, filters and flow control and 8 sample bags and hanging frame.  Turbine exhaust unit and starter module.

Benefits
• 1 phase for motorcycles
• 3 or 4 phase for vehicles
(6 or 8 Bags)
• Multiple CFV option
• Compact, modular design

  Calibration system

MaxSys 900
This system is designed to support the MaxSys 900 Advanced Emissions system for all automotive applications.

The system consists of the Signal Model 821S Gas Divider and

Model Noxgen IIIR NOx efficiency tester.

The calibration units can be integrated into the standard MaxSys 900 Emissions Bench or as a Mobile Stand alone rack which can support a number of Emission Benches.

This system can be controlled by the Model 102 Bench Control unit to provide automatic Audit Calibration of the analysers contained in the Emissions Bench.

  Test Equipment

821S
10 Step Gas Divider
The Model 821S allows instrument operators and manufacturers to check the linearity of their instruments, by the use of only one calibration gas and one diluent.

Eleven fixed steps from 0-100% concentration are provided, each step rising by 10% The unit operates the method of dividing two gases through a chain of 10 identical capillary tubes, in such a way that the operator selects the number of capillaries to which each gas is open.

The Model 821S has a repeatability performance of +/-0.5% of point.

Model NOxgen IIIR
Efficiency Tester
The Model Noxgen 3 series allows instrument operators and manufacturers to check the converter efficiency of their Chemiluminescent NOx analyser.

The unit is controlled by using two decade thumbwheel switches adjustable from 00 to 99, and a three position ozone level switch for low, medium and high settings. The Noxgen 3 R provides the option of remote control using TTL levels for all operational functions

19"Rack Mounted Components

MODEL 361 / 362
Heated  Pump, Distribution & Pre-filter module

A  medium duty heated Prefilter unit is installed in the 19" Rack housing of the analysers.

The  Prefilter is fitted with a choice of either one (Model 361) or two (Model  362) filter streams (for either two sample points, pre/post cat or twin  cells).

The  units incorporate a heated head sample pump, gas distribution needle valve manifold, back  pressure regulator, The unit provides 3 heated outputs and 1 cold output to a chiller or cooler/dryer.

MODEL 340F
Standard Heated Filtration Unit
The Model 340F is designed as a Standard Heated Filtration Unit for gas samples controlled up to 190 deg C and is available as a Single Stream or Dual Stream ( 2 singles).

The control temperature is displayed on the front panel and a thermocouple socket on the rear panel allows sample temperature to be externally monitored.

Heated Sample Lines
Signal Trace Heated Line is designed  to convey  hot  exhaust  gasses  from  sample points and probes to analyser,  without  compromising sample  integrity. With  safety  a  major  consideration  the tough,  flexible  line  is  electrically    isolated  from  the main  supply  and  is  thermally  insulated  to  allow  handling  even  at  full  temperature.

Available in 1/4" & 3/8" tube dia. and1m to 20m lengths.
